Mexican Cartel Used Hacker to Spy on and Kill FBI Informants

A powerful Mexican drug cartel once led by the infamous drug lord 'El Chapo' reportedly hired a hacker to help them find and kill FBI informants, according to a recent report from the U.S. Department of Justice.

The cartel, known as the Sinaloa Cartel, used the hacker to break into security camera systems in Mexico City. This allowed them to watch and follow people who were working with the FBI. Some of those people were later threatened or killed.

The hacker also got access to the phone records of an FBI official working at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. This official, called an assistant legal attaché (ALAT), was part of the team investigating El Chapo and his cartel.

According to the report, the hacker was offering services that could hack phones and other electronic devices. Using the ALAT's phone number, the hacker was able to see their call history and track their location.

The report explained that the cartel used hacked cameras to follow the FBI official around the city and identify people they met. The cartel then used that information to scare or kill anyone who was helping the FBI.

This case shows how criminal groups are now using technology to fight back against law enforcement, making their operations even more dangerous and harder to stop.

R&B singer R. Kelly was reportedly hospitalized after suffering an overdose while incarcerated, according to recent court filings. The 58-year-old artist, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, is currently serving a 30-year sentence on charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking.

The incident allegedly occurred last Friday at the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina, where Kelly is being held. According to the documents, the singer collapsed and was subsequently transported to Duke University Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Legal filings submitted by Kelly’s attorney, Beau B. Brindley, claim that the Grammy Award-winning artist became disoriented and faint after receiving multiple medications prescribed by prison staff, including those for anxiety. The documents state that Kelly experienced visual disturbances described as “black spots” before losing consciousness.

During transport, Kelly reportedly overheard a correctional officer remark, “This is going to open a whole new can of worms.”

According to his legal team, Kelly had been placed in solitary confinement on June 10. Over the following days, he was administered medication which, they argue, led directly to the overdose on June 13. The filings allege that prison personnel over-medicated Kelly and suggest that the incident was preventable.

The medical emergency comes amid broader concerns raised by Kelly’s attorneys, who recently filed an emergency motion claiming he is the target of an alleged murder-for-hire plot involving prison officials and another inmate.

Included in the motion is a sworn affidavit from fellow inmate Mikeal Glenn Stine, who identifies himself as the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. Stine alleges that prison staff offered him early release in exchange for killing Kelly. He further claims that a plan was in place to facilitate his transfer to another facility and stage a fabricated escape.

These developments add new urgency to the legal efforts surrounding Kelly’s incarceration and raise serious questions regarding his safety and the conduct of prison personnel.

She explained that the danger centers around the Valsalva manoeuvre—a common act of straining while holding your breath during bowel movements. “This action increases pressure in the chest, which reduces the return of blood to the heart,” Spear said. “While usually harmless, for people with heart conditions, this can trigger fainting spells, irregular heart rhythms, or even sudden death—a phenomenon known as 'defecation syncope.'”

Professor Spear emphasized the role of the vagus nerve, which helps regulate heart rate. Overstimulation of this nerve—caused by intense straining or rectal pressure—can lead to a sharp drop in heart rate and blood pressure, sometimes resulting in unconsciousness. “For those with underlying heart issues, a trip to the toilet can turn into a life-threatening event,” she warned.

The inmate accused of stabbing Tory Lanez multiple times claims he acted in self-defense, believing the rapper was out to kill him. According to the attacker, Tory had allegedly placed a bounty on his head.

We spoke with Santino Casio during a prison phone call. Casio, already serving a life sentence when the incident occurred, admits to the stabbing but insists there's more to the story.

Casio explained that he had heard through prison rumors that Tory wanted him dead. Soon after, he encountered Tory and noticed what he believed was a weapon in the rapper’s pocket.

Fearing for his life, Casio says he acted first — attacking Tory and stabbing him 14 times. Despite the violence, Casio insists his intent wasn’t to kill.

He shared that the attack came as a shock, considering he and Tory once had a cordial relationship while housed in neighboring cells at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.

Casio also claims he didn’t come out of the altercation unscathed, saying he sustained a stab wound to his leg — which, to him, confirms Tory had a weapon.

When asked if he regrets what happened, Casio expressed mild remorse, though he stopped short of a full apology.

As previously reported, Tory Lanez was stabbed seven times in the back, four times in the torso, and three times in the head earlier this month. He was hospitalized but has since returned to prison.

Tory has received an outpouring of support following the incident, including from Drake and Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna. Both have appealed to California Governor Gavin Newsom, urging a pardon for Tory related to the 2020 shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion.

In a statement, Tory's legal team condemned the attack, calling it “brutal and vicious” and emphasizing the serious danger Tory faces behind bars. They dismissed Casio’s version of events as false and outrageous, pointing to his life sentence for violent crimes as a reason to question his credibility.

The team also reiterated Tory’s claim of innocence and called for his immediate release, describing his continued imprisonment as a grave injustice and a threat to his life.

he third week of P Diddy's trial is underway as his former personal assistant and Cassie's confidant took to the stand with many bombshell claims.

The case is in its third week. Diddy, 55, is currently facing a number of serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex ­trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution.

He was arrested in September and strongly denies all allegations made against him. He has been in prison since his arrest, and a number of bail requests have been rejected.

Last week, rapper Kid Cudi took to the stand and he claimed that his Porsche was burned by what he called a Molotov cocktail, which is a hand-throwing bomb filled with flammable liquid.

Elsewhere, Cassie's mother, Regina Ventura, also gave evidence. She had claimed that she feared for her daughter, telling the jury she took out a loan to pay Combs as she was worried about her safety. Diddy's former assistant, David James, also testified, along with Cassie's former friend Kerry Morgan.

Capricorn Clark is currently testifying in the case and prosecutors are said to be planning to call on representatives for both the Los Angeles fire and police departments. The court case took an extended pause for Memorial Day.

While Clark took to the stand, it was reported that Cassie went into labour and was rushed to a hospital in New York. The trial continues.

Combs, who is on trial for sex-trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, sat a few feet away from Kid Cudi — whose real name is Scott Mescudi — as the Grammy-winning rapper recounted alleged threats Combs made when he learned Mescudi was dating Combs' ex-girlfriend Casandra "Cassie" Ventura.

Combs and Ventura were in an on-again, off-again relationship for over a decade. She dated Mescudi when she was going through "a rough patch" with Combs, she previously alleged in a lawsuit against Combs.

Ventura had testified that Combs threatened to blow up Mescudi's car after learning of their relationship — and Mescudi testified Thursday that someone threw a Molotov cocktail into his blue Porsche soon after. He said he believed Combs to be responsible.

The jury was presented with photos of the car after the explosion.

Prosecutors to call four more witnesses

Four more witnesses will be called to testify on Wednesday. These include a Los Angeles Police Department officer, a Los Angeles Fire Department investigator, Denote Nash, and a woman who has been known as "Mia".

Maurene Comey, prosecuting, believes the team will be able to speak to all four witnesses.

U2 frontman Bono has opened up about the romance rumours between his wife, Ali Hewson, and bandmate The Edge. Bono and Ali have been married since 1982 and share four children - Jordan, 36, Eve, 33, Elijah, 25, and John, 22. The singer, 65, recently discussed how close Ali is to his pal The Edge, real name David Howell Evans.

He spoke to The Project on Sunday to talk about his upcoming film Bono: Stories of Surrender, which is a documentary about his life behind the mic as U2's frontman. It’s also worth remembering that, although it’s relatively modern history in some respects, from a financial and economic perspective, the 1960s were a very long time ago. The figures are already staggering, but consider the inflation of money in the 60 years that have passed since, and The Beatles’ overall fortunes are worth more than a healthy sum, taking into account just album and record sales alone, and notwithstanding all the other capitalised avenues that they built around their wake.

With this in mind, even to say that the Fab Four made $1.76 billion in album sales may be a conservative figure. Given that between the years of their tenure from 1962 to 1970 alone, they made $17 million of that sum, the translation into today’s money is astronomical, especially when the culture of the days of old is taken into account, where artists were not remunerated anywhere near as healthily as they should have been. Yes, The Beatles are rich – it goes without saying – but the true scale of their wealth is beyond the limits of comprehension to most.

The maths behind how exactly The Beatles split their earnings is pretty complicated, but in the most basic terms possible, they distributed it based on how much work each person did. For obvious reasons, that meant Paul McCartney and John Lennon got the biggest share, and while they would hardly be considered out of pocket, Ringo Starr and George Harrison got a far less sizeable chunk of the cash.

Although internet claims of celebrity net worth are not always the most reliable, they do give a plausible ballpark estimation of the wealth of each Beatle, as well as how this stands up to today. Coming in first place, as no surprise to anyone, is McCartney, who these days has an eye-watering wealth of roughly $1.2bn, taking his earnings from Wings and various other solo projects into that figure also. Lennon followed behind with a net worth of $800m at the time of his death in 1980, while Harrison’s was around $400m when he passed away in 2001, and Starr has a net worth in the region of $350m in current terms.

Given that relatively, The Beatles were only together at the height of their fame for seven years, it’s a mammoth steam train of money that they stoked up in such a finite period of time. Granted, the music business had much less commercial leeway then than it does now, and in many ways, there was no such thing as ‘middle of the road’ fame. But that said, whenever you hear people talking about the Fab Four as the biggest band in the world and you roll your eyes, maybe this is the moment you realise, once and for all, that it really is the truth.

Fans keep thinking GTA 6 is ripping off the likeness of real people

 

The streets of Grand Theft Auto 6’s Leonida are bustling with all sorts of zany characters who help bring Rockstar’s satire of Florida to life. Typically, this fictional mass of non-playable plebs find a balance between being complete randos and looking realistic enough to be believable. Potentially, you could point to any character in the GTA 6 trailers so far and be able to find at least one human being IRL who looks uncannily familiar to that NPC; we’ve got a population of over 8 billion to work with here. But there are now two totally different instances where fans think that Rockstar lifted the likeness of two actual people.

The first time transpired back in 2024, when Laurence Sullivan, a man known as the “Florida Joker,” threatened Rockstar with a lawsuit over a character he believed mimicked his viral mugshot from 2017. The character in question did bear some resemblances to Sullivan in that both of them clearly took cues from DC’s Dark Knight, but ultimately Florida Joker did not sue the makers of GTA 6. He did, however, demand millions of dollars in compensation in exchange for the “free marketing” he was providing them. To date, it does not appear that Sullivan was ever paid.

That same trailer, which debuted GTA 6 for the first time, also included a Black character adorned with dreadlocks, a white tank top, and a hefty collection of gold chains. This prompted a response from a TikToker named zoeepoppyy, who posted a video back in 2023 while standing next to a still of the trailer.

“They done cloned Tyrone,” the man said while sucking his teeth in disapproval. “C’mon, can I get paid?” he asked. zoeepoppyy pointed to details like his hair, his chain, his glasses, as well as facial features as evidence for the copycat.
